It's a wine to drink in the shower

One day in 2013 we had a bottle of Raisins Gaulois by Domaine Lapierre with Tysia and read back then "it's a wine to drink in the shower". Such little things play with your imagination! Tysia baked a homemade chałka and we had a lovely breakfast with a bottle of this playful, joyful, yet quite serious Beaujolais. Since that day, we have our chałka & Raisins Gaulois day every year. This year, it's the 12th year of this little tradition.

After a streak of many years with a sweet tooth and different ways to pair chałka with jams, marmalades, honey and fruit we went the full savoury this time. Chałka / chicken liver / fourme d'ambert / butter proved to be a wonderful match to this baby Morgon, too. The sweet touches of liver and the cheese played nicely with the crunchy, sweet fruit, and a streak of acidity & some spice brightened the whole thing.

We've had an ocean of super tasty, drinkable wines over the years, but Raisins Gaulois IS our definiton of glou glou, the Sèvres standard.
